On Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Farmington Hills Police Department will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in hosting Prescription Drug Take-Back Day at Police Headquarters located at 31655 W. Eleven Mile Road. This effort will safely and anonymously remove potentially dangerous controlled substances (any medication requiring a prescription) from homes throughout the community.

Residents of any city may participate in Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, and everyone must wear a mask when they enter Police Headquarters. Unwanted prescription drugs are accepted anonymously in any type of container and no identifying information is required.

Please note that the DEA does not accept liquids. To dispose of liquids, free Deterra Drug Deactivation pouches are available at the Police Department front desk. Each take-home pouch deactivates six ounces of cream or liquid, six patches, or 45 pills rendering them inert and non-retrievable. For more information, call the Investigative Bureau at 248-871-2770.
