Think about what you may spend $5 on this week. Coffee? Quick meal on the go?
Consider that this same $5 could offer a neighbor a little bit of hope. A compassionate ear. An hour when they can relax and share their mental burden.
The Michigan School Psychological Clinic offers a sliding scale, with 1-hour of psychotherapy starting at just $5. But the fact is, for some of our clients or potential clients, even $5 per week for therapy is an unmanageable financial burden.
MSP is launching a Clinic Compassion Fund (www.msp.edu/clinic/compassion/) to support our mission to make therapy available to everyone. And we really do mean everyone, no matter what their financial situation. No insurance? Insurance with unaffordable co-pays and deductibles? No one is turned away from the MSP Clinic for an inability to pay.
All donations to the fund will support the Clinic, no matter how much or little our clients can pay. And every little bit really does count. A $20 donation can provide up to four therapy sessions; small scale philanthropy works when we all give.
Help us support the people in our community who need it most. Your donation will have an immediate and positive impact on the lives of people in need who may otherwise face endless waiting lists, choosing between therapy and their next meal, or worse.
